The publication of Chambers Dictionary of the Unexplained was heralded with a quiz at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on 14 August 2007. The event, which swiftly sold out, was a tremendous success. Chaired by the crime writer Mark Billingham, it also featured as panellists the crime writer Val McDermid, the journalist, writer and broadcaster Muriel Gray, the writer and documentary filmmaker Jon Ronson and the writer and journalist Jenny Colgan. Una McGovern, the editor of the Dictionary of the Unexplained, kept the scores.
